How does Spam Score work?
You can find Spam Score inside Open Site Explorer (if you're not a subscriber, you can check it out with a free trial)
Click on Spam Analysis tab
The following lists Anchor Text related and On-page related flags, the flags are:
Low mozTrust to mozRank ratio
Large site with few links
Site link diversity is low
Ratio of followed to nofollowed subdomains/domains (two separate flags)
Small proportion of branded links (anchor text)
Large site with few links
Site link diversity is low
Ratio of followed to nofollowed subdomains/domains (two separate flags)
Small proportion of branded links (anchor text)
On-page flags and Domain Name related flags
Thin content
Site mark-up is abnormally small
Large number of external links
Low number of internal links
Anchor text-heavy page
External links in navigation
No contact info
Low number of pages found
TLD correlated with spam domains
Domain name length
Domain name contains numerals
Site mark-up is abnormally small
